  1. I bought the Defyance shoe because it was a shoe that touted that it could support a person with high instep/high arches. It did not, even with my orthotic insert. I was disappointed with the product

  2. This purchase was my third pair of the Brooks Defyance. I’m a size 9 1/2 but always purchase 1/2 size up, so size 10. I’ve run in just about every moderate support to neutral Brooks shoe including the Infiniti (two much support and cushioning), Adrenaline (also too much), Axiom (good) and the Racer ST3 (love but only use in races). Defyance has become my favorite every day runner. I’ve averaged about 300-350 miles/pair before “retirement”. I’ve done everything from track workouts to marathons in the Defyance. If your foot enjoys the Brooks fit, this shoe should be considered, especially for those looking for a little less support and cushioning.

  3. This is the third generation of this model shoe I have purchased. Brooks continues to make the best running shoe for my supinating feet. They are light weight and last forever. I have logged about 300 miles on this pair so far, and expect to run until I have to cut the toes out to make room to grow.

If you are looking for a pair of running shoes the will give you the support and comfort during long runs, look no further.

  4. I have bought 3 exact pairs of the Brooks Defeyance and have run a lot of miles in them. I would suggest replacing after 300-400 miles but still a sturdy, well built shoe that will go the distance.

  5. This is my fourth pair of Brooks running shoes and I continue to be a fan. They are comfortable straight out of the box, lightweight, and cushy sole. I’m not a big fan of the lime green color and would have preferred an option – however I cannot fault the quality of the shoe itself. I recommend it to everyone who asks.
